Today is the kick off of the Sephora spring sale for beauty insiders and it’s time for beauty fanatics to stock up! Depending on your member status you can save 10% to 20% off your entire purchase.
Let’s imagine a world where I don’t try skincare products non-stop and put my skin through the wringer constantly. In this scenario we’ll also imagining that I was robbed blind in the night and the burglar stole all my skincare and that I was a kept woman and have someone in my life who wanted to spoil me with products only from Sephora.
Stay tuned for haircare and cosmetics holy grail picks plus also drugstore and indie brand versions. 🙂
Cleansers
I am all about a foamy cleanser. I want something that lathers and cleanses without stripping. I got the jumbo size of the Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Clean Foaming Face Wash ($60) and I have been enjoying it a lot. Nothing about it seems abrasive and it just does the job.
In the evenings, I always double cleanse. the Biossance Squalene + Antioxidant Cleansing Oil ($40) melts even the most stubborn makeup and then follow up with the Kiehl’s. A little goes a long way and I am still working through my first bottle from almost two years ago (there’s about 25% left), plus I love that it’s certified clean beauty! (See here for a full Biossance line review I did when I was first introduced to the brand – yes, I am still working on that bottle.)
TonerI don’t know if I’m getting old or this product was a turning point for me, but I now love the scent of roses. Before I found it kinda grandma-ish but the Fresh Beauty Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Toner ($59) smells so clean and pleasant to me. I find a lot of other toners leave my skin squeaky clean and feeling dehydrated while this one cleanses but also seemingly balances my skin well. (Plus, look at it. It’s stunning.)

Spot TreatmentIs there anything about the Blume Meltdown ($34) that I haven’t said before? Not only is this my favourite Sephora product, it’s my favourite beauty product hands down. I would buy this by the barrel if I could because no single product has made more of an improvement on my skin than this one. It can be used as a spot treatment but I like to apply a few drops onto my palms and rub them together and gently press it onto my face. The scent is refreshing and unlike a lot of other blemish treatments it never stings. This is also certified clean! (I also have a referral code for the Blume site directly, see it here, for $10 off your purchase of $20 or more – this does earn me credit on their site.) |
SerumProving that a high price tag doesn’t equate better skin, The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane ($5.80) is my go-to for a moisture boost. My love of squalene runs deep because it adds suppleness and is never heavy. This is also a product that can be used all over the body, including your hair! And it’s less than $6 for a clean product. What a score. |
SunscreenIt’s concerning how many people still don’t wear sunscreen daily. Truly. Ever since I discovered Coola it has been my go-to sunscreen brand. Right now the Coola SPF 30 in Matte Cucumber ($48) is my favourite. I love that Coola treats sunscreen like it’s skincare and it comes in a matte formula perfect for oily skin plus, this is also certified clean! Bonus: it never applies streaky white! (This is also the only product from this round-up that I am out of so I will definitely be grabbing this during the sale) |
Day CreamWhen it comes to day moisturizer I am a believer in the K.I.S.S method; keep it simple, stupid! Since I wear sunscreen daily (yes, even when I am indoors all day lately) and at times layer makeup on top of my moisturizer I want the cream to be as light as possible. The Belif Milky Hydra Balancing Moisturizer ($50) is perfect for layering with other products and, again, is certified clean at Sephora! |
Night CreamI’ll be the first to admit that i was skeptical about the Biossance Squalane + Omega Repair Cream ($75) because of it’s high price point but this moisturizer, ohmigawd. It has the perfect amount of richness that is never greasy and seems to feel so incredibly luxe. It feels like a less intense version of an overnight hydration mask. Again, Biossance has become one of my favourite brands in recent years because it’s clean and it works.

Eye CreamRemember, this is a hyptotfical shopping list of someone else buying me my favourite products because this product is pricy. The Dermalogica Stress Positive Eye Lift Mask ($96) makes me feel bougie AF and I love the applicator. It’s applies cool to add to the depuffing factor of this eye cream. I definitely notice more plumpness and lifting whenever I use it and it breaks my heart to think that one day I will run out of this. |
Face Masque
I have a lot of different face masks for different results, but if you’re not looking to grow your collection with dozens of masks I usually recommend that people pick out one deep hydration and one for troublesome skin. For my skin when it’s the most stressed out (aka: me being a little brat and eating all the dairy) I love the Origins Out of Trouble 10-Minute Mask to Rescue Problem Skin ($33). It’s a bit tingly, but never stings and just feels very fresh.
For when my skin is distressed in a way that enhances texture and dryness my go-to is the Fresh Beauty Rose Deep Hydration Sleeping Mask ($66). This is a two in one product and there is an essence formula and a water cream mask layered on top. It’s the heaviest hydration in the best way possible.
Lip BalmI don’t know about y’all but the second week if isolation my lips really went through it. They were peeling, cracked and painfully dry. This Bite Beauty Agave+ Daytime Vegan Lip Balm ($18) was a lifesaver. It is a bit tricky to work with because the formula is really creamy, so light pressure is needed for application but this repaired my lips, seemingly, overnight.

Skincare ToolIf there is any takeaway from this post, please make it this. A Clarisonic Mia Smart Cleansing Brush ($229) is 100% worth the investment. I use mine every morning and night and even to remove stubborn face masks. It saves me money in the long run because I use significantly less cleanser with it and my skin has never looked better. I love that are multiple brush-heads available for sale for different skin types and purposes (there is a massage head and a foundation brush head too!) |
