Your girl is vaccinated (first dose) and getting her peckers ready to swap spit. Long gone are the days of a matte liquid formula that leaves the dreaded butthole lips (if you know, you know), instead we seem to be opting for a gloss or shimmer finish in a MLBB (my lips but better!) shade. Lately I’ve been opting for tinted lip balms, I love how easy they are to wear while packing on the moisture with a nice sheen finish. I have tried tons of different formulas and I’ve rounded up my favourites.
For something that is the most like a balm, check out the Kosasport LipFuel Hyaluronic Lip Balm ($24). It has wild mint and a bit of minor tingle. Out of all of my picks this one is the most like a balm, adding more hydration with a touch of colour. The packaging is super sleek and I love this certified clean lippie. (Pictured shade: Rush)
For packaging that feels esspensive, I love the NARS Afterglow Lip Balm ($37). The metallic component has a great weight to it and everything about it feels luxe. Each of the colours provide the perfect hint of colour but my favourite is the iconic Orgasm shade, which unlike the other shades, it has pH-adjusting pigments to be the perfect shade for you – think of your mood lip balm from the 90’s but better. For a drugstore pick, you can’t go wrong with the QUO Beauty Avocado Lip Balm ($10). With avocado oil and shea butter to nourish, it adds the least amount of colour of my top picks, making it ideal to pair with any makeup look. It also smells like Starbursts! Delicious! For a touch of shimmer, try the #LipStories Lip Balm ($10) from Sephora Collection. It has the perfect amount of shimmer and glittery without being juvenile. I love that the component is made with less plastic and paper in a fully recyclable cardboard tube. (Pictured shade: Ditching Class)
For the most moisture possible, toss a Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss Lipstick Balm ($39) in your bag. This is my top pick, number one, if you’re only going to buy one, suggestion. It has the most dewy finish with lots of hyaluronic-acid and the most colour payoff. I will say, the only downside of this product is that it doesn’t twist down. (Pictured shade: Pillowtalk)
