Sustainable Swim Fit Notes – Bikini Empire, Londre Bodywear & Nettle’s Tale

Your girl is what they call “top heavy” or as I like to say, an hourglass with some extra minutes, so I heavily rely on sizing guides when online shopping but more often then not they steer your girl wrong. I benefit greatly from being straight-sized but these boobs did not get the memo.

My measurements: 42-34-41, bra size 34DDD (or 34E depending on the brand).

Coming soon: fit notes on Beth Richards, the Saltwater Collective and Selfish Swimwear.

Bikini Empire

Bikini Empire loves a skimpy fit and I find their styles a bit snug, all of these are a size Large.

The Laguna one-piece is a very compressed fit and requires a bit of adjusting to get all my bits tucked in, but once I’m in there I feel very secure in it. I would say this is my ideal size, I think a size up would “fit” but not provide the support I’m looking for.

The Lolita top (red)is my favourite of the three BE tops that I have. The straps are removable and it’s a longer length so it can be worn as a crop top. This is the least restricting of my three BE tops. The Honey bottoms (red) (available S-L) are skimpy and feel extremely snug. I could easily size up in these. The side knot detail on me is almost non-existent because I have to stretch out the bottoms to get them on.

The Solitaire top (printed) is a reversible style in a bold print. I find a scoop-neck cut the most flattering on me, however I probably could go up a size, you’ll see in this photo that my side boobage is very out-and-about.

The Rosie top (black) is a fuller coverage bandeau style top with adjustable shoulder-ties. The girls are secure but also on display in this retro fit, and fits perfectly.

The Domino bottoms (black & printed) are my most high-waisted swimwear bottoms. They sit at my natural waist and over my belly button and they are skimpy, front and back.

Londre Bodywear

Londre Bodywear is one of my favourite fits, double-lined and compressed. Out of all of my current suits this one feels the most “perfect” fitting, it doesn’t dig into my hips or bust line but it also feels secure without being constricting. They do offer up to 5XL in some styles, however I have heard from my plus-side friends that some of their plus size styles are a completely different look than their straight sized cuts. Both pieces are a size Large. Some styles that are high up on my wish-list from Londre include the Minimalist and the Ruffle Top.

So I don’t own this suit, but I have worn it! Nettle’s Tale is a great brand for all types of body types. Their tops range from sizes XS to 4X and I wear a Large or XLarge in all of their tops (pictured is an XLarge). The bottoms I am wearing are a Large, however I could also size down to a Medium. I’ve modelled a few of the Nettle’s Tale suits and this sizing seems to be consistent throughout the line.

The style pictured is a limited edition style and print in collaboration with Free Label.

I’ve always believed the spaces we spend time in a I’ve always believed the spaces we spend time in affect how we feel and work.

Rove Kyoto feels less like a traditional coworking space and more like somewhere you actually want to spend your day.

Inspired by Japanese minimalism, the design-forward space is built around calm and focused work environments, with warm wood, soft lighting, thoughtful details, quiet corners, and pieces from the Rove Concepts Kyoto Collection throughout, including standing desks that somehow make answering emails feel slightly more zen.

And on weekends, the space shifts into something entirely different: a lounge experience centred around matcha and Japanese-inspired hospitality.

Last June, I went on a life-changing trip to Peru Last June, I went on a life-changing trip to Peru with @intrepidtravel . We did the big adventures, like walking up to the Sun Gates at Machu Picchu, exploring the Amazon, and connecting with the local community.

But beyond the adventure, the trip also created a meaningful impact. It’s easy to think travel is just about what you take from a place. But sometimes, it’s also about what your presence gives back.

A simple lunch at AMA in the Sacred Valley turned into something more. Not just because it was a great meal, but because of the people behind it, mothers building a livelihood while caring for their kids, and a space that supports both.

That’s what makes trips like this feel so meaningful. The experiences stay with you, but so do the people, and the small ways your visit contributes.

That’s what The Intrepid Effect looks like to me: responsible travel that creates a positive effect in the local community long after I head home. What does it look like to you?

It might sound cheesy, but people cheering for you actually does help. I’m also so grateful to the @runasyouare community for not only supporting me through my race but their open invite to be a part of their cheer squad year after year. Tell me who else is going to book a DJ and a choir for a cheering station?!
